Great Dubbing!,
05 August 2013
By: mysticangler
from Rolla, MO
"Silk is very fine, and dubs on even nylon mono thread well with no wax. I can tie down into the size 20's easily.
The only drawback is that when I want to color only the back of a sow bug, for instance, the silk wicks the ink all through the dubbing, resulting in a mono-colored body. Not what I wanted.
On the whole, great product."

Lovely Light and Creamy,

"This dubbing is very lovely to use. It is light, creamy and goes where you want it. Excellent for building light Cayhill, mild Caddis and chewy Midge bodies. Builds bulk without weight where needed."

"So far this dubbing is working out nicely for my smaller flies. It's easy to get just a small amount on the hook so my flies aren't to bulky."

silk makes excellent dubbing,
12 September 2012
By: flyfshr
from Minnesota
"I like silk dubbing for dry flies. Silk is naturally bouyant, is a very pleasant material to tie with and adds a nice sheen to the finished fly. It dubs and compresses very smoothly and is suitable for tiny flies. This material from Orvis is top notch and the colors are very useful. I only wish it came in a few more shades."

"Have tried several types of dubbing and this wraps much better and dubbs onto the thread much easier. Fished with it today and performed beautifully!"
