Long Brush Pants,
30 December 2011
By: TallHunter
from Trotters, North Dakota
"I looked for brush pants with a 36" inseam for over a week. In the end Orvis was the only major outfitter to offer them. The pants are great and I am anxiuous to try them out next upland season."

Crotch to high,
27 December 2011
By: Simonb
"the pants are great although I would redesign the pockets as they are too small an opening and too high, need to be slanted down the leg more. The crotch is too high, these are not a jean cut but hunting pants, up and down...all day.."

They did not hold up,
08 November 2011
By: IDbirdman
from Meridian, ID
"When I received these pants I had a similiar experience to another reviewer in that buttons immediatley began coming off and lost 7 buttons over the next few weeks. I have used these pants every other week over the past year and much less expensive pair from a competitor every other week and the Missouri Breaks are just about completely destroyed while the competitors still are functional. I have had to reattach buttons, reinforce the crotch with an iron-on patch. Now the canvas fronts are wearing through and the fabric is fraying in several areas. The pants are incredibly comfortable and look great and I would recommend them to an average hunter but just are not durable enough for a hard core hunter to justify the price. I am 61 and had triple bypass surgery on June 13th so I am not the burner I used to be but the pants did not keep up."

Great bird hunting pants,
24 October 2011
By: THP1
from Pittsburgh, Pa.
"The Missouri Breaks pants offer a range of sizes and colors from which to select. The pant fits well and is fronted with a briar resisting finish. It is light enough weight as to be worn both in early season as well as later into the year with a heavier men's underwear. The pant fits like a man's casual slack! It does not require wearing for break in, but is comfortable right from the start."

Farther afield,
12 September 2011
By: Jnomad
from Washington D.C.
"Either my luck is increasing or I am getting better at bagging them from much farther away. This means running through fields and wooded areas, often in briars. These briar pants allow for great flexibility and excellent durability. Fairly stained and beat-up after my first hunt of the season, but sure to last for ages."

Almost great,
25 July 2011
By: WildBillMac
from PA Hunter, Fisherman and Landowner
"Purchased the Missouri Breaks and was immediately disappointed when two of the suspender buttons dropped off in the field. The pants did the job however and I clipped off the remaining suspender buttons and now use a belt. Perfect for warm weather treks in the woods, working, etc..
Unfortunately, these pants arrived shortly before my ventile pants. As nice as the Missouri's might be (or have been with functioning suspender buttons)..they do not hold a candle to the Orvis Ventile pants. Very expensive the Ventile products...but folks, they are worth every extra penny. These may be the best pants purchase I have ever made. Really incredible product across every metric... from fit to function.
Hats off on the Ventile and an almost on the Missouri's. Please, please have your suppliers pay greater attention to real quality details and differentiators...like cuffs, collars, trim and buttons.
So there you have it... two pant reviews for the price of one. The Ventile pants are flat out the best you can buy...the Missouri is a bit of a compromise."

"I live in the hostile environment of Arizona and live to hunt quail. Almost everything has briars, stickers or cactus quills. These pants shed the briars and don't stick to the fabric like the coarse kevlar and other pant facings. I hunt 3 times a week and two hard weeks in Idaho for sage Grouse and Sharptails, I still have the same pair for three years and I'm sure they will last three more. The only pants I will wear for hunting and I've had them all. I just put in a hint to Mrs. Santa Claus for a second pair."

"I have worn out 6 or 7 pairs of these pants as I hunt all over the northern and southern hemispheres in tough conditions. I hunt in the sheer rocks of Eastern Oregon to the cactus and rocks of Northern Baja. These pants have proven to be the most durable of any I have tried, including some that have been much more expensive. They are a little heavy but that is a compromise that I'm willing to accept as they do hold up well. The only reason for me to discard a used pair is that they eventually do get ripped up. I do not consider this to be a flaw because I know where they have been and I would rather the pants rip than me. The new style with the gusseted crotch and roomy legs is quite comfortable and allows good movement when climbing over obstacles. They resist brush well but do not work on cactus (none do). I would reccomend these pants to the avid hunter."

Excellent Pants,
02 January 2008
By: RCFramer
from Saint Petersburg, FL
"These are excellent pants. They are durable and comfortable. I've used them in cold weather conditions hunting pheasant in SD and in warmer weather hunting quail in GA. Order the inseam about 1" longer than you need as they shrink. These pants will last at least 15 to 20 years with constant use. Good luck."

My Favorite Hunting Pants,

By: Adam
"These Missouri Breaks Briar pants are quickly becoming my favorite. They'll get through the toughest cover, but they don't feel like a suit of armor. The gusseted seat makes them the most comfortable pants I own!"
