"As a big time fly junky with a vest that is over stuffed and too heavy/bulky, I have made an off season decision to simplify. I have ordered the three sizes of super slim fly boxes to hold only the flys I will need for a specific fishing venue. Critical fly selection and using these super compact boxes have allowed me to reach my goal."

space saver,
01 February 2012
By: Bearbait
from Warren, Pa.
"organizing flies to carry in your vest requires many boxes, takes space and adds weight. These new Orvis boxes are thin, light weight, durable and will hold almost 150 flies. This box is not sutable for larger flies but perfect for small nymphs and dries which I use mostly. The boxes fit comfortably in most pockets of my vest."

Super slim fly boxes,
24 January 2012
By: pitsfordman

"I've purchased and used 5 of these boxes this past year, they fit my waistcoat pocket perfectly. The corners are rounded and the boxes are so slim. I carry about 1000 flies in a very small volume and they hold the flies really securely, without damaging them. The boxes are very good value at just under £10, and they are made from robust plastic. they close up securely and it seems to me they will last several seasons."

Thin and effective,

By: SteelheadEd
from Steelhead Alley, Oh
"Santa brought me this Slim Fly Box and I must have been on the good list. A great addition to my fly boxes. Will hold a lot of Steelhead Alley nymphs and egg patterns up to size 10 as I've already begun to load it with them. Holds bigger flies than you would think, especially since steelhead files are pretty hardy."

"I have had my share of fly boxes, but this is my all time favourite. I love how Orvis just keeps on making such revolutionary products. Such a simple design, yet so advanced. Only downside is that it will not fit your saltwaterflies.
Keep up the good work, Orvis!"

"This is the perfect sized box for those of us that hit the tailwaters and other freestones that generally offer smaller (16-22)portions to these fish. Whether multi-rigging midges, scuds, nymphs or emergers - this flybox allows me to load up (and organize) multiple collections of flies without fighting that bulk out on the water.
It holds a ton of flies, neatly arranged - both physically and visually - and is one of a very few 'must have' accessories!
What are you waiting for?"

Must Have,
17 October 2011
By: Frank1107
from Utica, New York
"The Super Slim fly box is a must have. Simply the best box for nymphs, midges, egg patterns, any anything else you can fit into it. I have those "expensive watertight slit foam" boxes and truly wish I had seen these first, ther is no comaprison for ease of use, the ability to see what is in the box, weight, cost, and the list goes on. Just get one, you'll love it."

Compact Fly Box,
25 July 2011
By: MTBound
"This is a very good fly box based on its size and capacity for small trout nymphs in size ranges 14 to 20. I especially like the slim profile of this box as a space saving feature in my vest. My only recommendation to improve this box is to make the attachment of foam to the plastic box more secure. Mine has two attachments with double stick tape that have moved with time and heat causing the foam to curl in all four corners. The tape should be attached at all edges of the box and in the middle of the foam for better adhesion."

"I love this super thin fly box. I only wish they made this a little thicker so you could get dry flys into the box. Would eliminate the need for bulk fly boxes. This case fits perfectly into a chest/fanny pack!!"

A near-perfect box,
18 May 2011
By: Rick
"This slim box is perfect for sizes 18-22. My dirty secret is that I also use these for 12-16 dry flies as well. When at home, I keep the lids open to minimize 'crunch'. But even with parachutes and hackles (Orvis quality, of course), I have not noticed a degradation in appearance or performance. For the odd fly that lies down, just fluff it up a little before casting. I wish a second version would become available that is 1/4" thicker. The clear front allows me to quickly locate the right box when I've got more than one in my vest."
