"This is my third pair and these have been good hiking and travel pants with a lot of useful pockets and features.
However, why was the Dark Khaki color discontinued? The new light Khaki color shows dirt and stains way too much.
I also agree with ronzo about the "tent problem, " so a little better tailoring in the midsection would be helpful."

"I bought the pants in Olive (really a brown in the pants) and the shorts in Stone.
They are both really comfortable and roomy without looking baggy. They look very good for this type of pants. The expandable waist is really great. They are light enough for summer wear.
Only complaint is that the inner waist closure button fell off after wearing several times on the shorts."

"I purchased the khaki about 3 weeks ago before an upcoming trip. I was naive to doubt the thought that goes into every detail of the pants construction would make much of a difference to me. Well my pessimism turned into complete delight after one wear. These pants are fantastic, must have for men who like comfort with a clean look. I just ordered another pair in stone along with the shorts today."

"I am not used to paying $89 (plus $10 to ship) for pants, half that would be a lot. But I thought I'd splurge on a friend's recommendation, cause I love cargo pants with lots of pockets and they're not easy to find- especially with the velcro closures.
When I opened the package, I was impressed with the fabric, color and style. Then I noticed the button/loop clasp for the back pockets... can ANYONE actually use those? It was hard to open with both hands, never mind one handed quickly going in and out with your wallet... Then I noticed the small pockets in front that would not even accommodate my small cell phone. What good are these pockets? They are too small for a phone? The big pocket is too big.
But the final straw was the TENT. The pants fit beautifully, but when I sit down, a huge tent billows above my groin. Lovely! I cannot wear pants that puff up there every time I sit down.
So, in the end, it cost me $17 to try on a pair of pants. I'm just not THAT rich...*"

"This is the second pair I have purchased of the same cargo pants in your catalog. The first pair I bought matched the color in the picture - khaki. The second pair I bought came as TAN; not khaki as per the same photo. Misrepresentation?"

"I gave this item 5 stars becausethe 14 pocket expedition pants are very light, exceeded my expectations. The 14 pockets are all functional, the material is great for hot weather activities. The whole package is great.I bought the dark olive color, and I do like the shade , tone, color value of the pants.I will buy another pair, different color. The ones I just bought go great with the ZAMEZI TWILL JACKET, and the shirts to go along are really a long list of colors, styles, comfort. BUY A PAIR!"

"These cargo pants are comfortable, good-looking, and loaded with great features. The only reason I can't give five stars is that the button for the inside flap fell off during my second wearing. For the price, I would thave expected a sturdier thread at a stress point like that.
That aside... awesome pants!"

"These are my cold-weather work pants (shorts are my warm weather gear). They are surprisingly durable for something so light weight and comfortable. I've been wearing these for almost 10 years now and will not be changing at all. You can wear them over and over again and they still look great and function like no other."

"I ordered these pants for my upcoming cruise around the Greek Isles. I was wary of buying mail order as I had a bad experience 20 years ago. Orvis is great! The pants fit perfectly with room to give at both ends- larger and smaller. The waist expander is wonderful as my weight varies a few pounds dependening on what I eat and how much I exercise. I choose this for the 14 pockets as I tend to carry a lot and they are just what I want . I have stared wearing them already and have had a number of positive responces from friends and family and have recommended and will continue to recommend Orivs to them"

"i bought these pants for my trip to rome. they are so comfortable and practical for travel. not too heavy, not too light. just right.
the initial delivery of these pants had a tear in one of te pockets. I called customer service and they sent a new pair within 2 days. I needed the pants quickly because i was leaving for rome in a few days.
overall. excellent pants and excellent customer service. will definitely buy more items from orvis in the future."
