Field Cuff KHP Marsh Pants

To describe the genius of these pants, you have to start at the cuff, an area overlooked in the design of most upland and duck-hunting pants. The rack-on-rib knit wool cuff snugs to your hunting boot top—keeping out the cold—or to your ankle, which makes sliding into high rubber boots or waders easier. KHP canvas is field-tested briar pants material. We sourced this 11.5-oz. cotton fabric from the original manufacturer of a pair of briar pants worn by three generations of our chairman's family. The fabric is heavily washed to tighten the grid-like weave and to soften the pants. Lined at the seat and thigh with a moisture-repellent cotton poplin. Internal suspender buttons. Cotton web with leather tab suspenders sold separately. Pants feature deep, 11" front pockets and rear button-close flap pocket. In field khaki. Washable. Imported.Even waist sizes: 32-46.

great design,
18 January 2012
By: homecookin

"I bought these first because I wanted the traditional brown canvas duck hunting pants, and also liked the idea of the ribbed cuffs, as I am in and out of hip boots all day, and the bottoms always bunch up. These slip on with no problem; a great feature.
The canvas has good water repellant, and I broke them in by getting stuck up to my thighs in "Chincoteague glue" and they stayed dry, and brushed off once the mud dried.
The calves are a little tight if you have big calves. Otherwise a comfortable cut. Deep pockets, but I'd like to see a flap on both rear pockets.
Very comfortable for walking, and not hot like oil cloth.

"fit real well under waterfowl coveralls in the AM: no bunching, no drag; then work great as field pants during upland hunts in the PM"

"I've been debating purchasing these Marsh Pants for a couple of years and pulled the trigger this winter. I'm glad I did: the fit, quality, and good looks frankly exceeded my high expectations. I wear Muck Boots on most of my hunts in New England where the woodcock and partridge seem most prolific where the terrain is worst and wettest. The Marsh Pants slide right into place inside my boots and don't ride up or balloon at the knee, and the extra canvas layers on the thighs & seat will give me some welcome extra wear while crashing through those thorny coverts. Very good product."

"I am very pleased with my purchase of the Marsh Pants. I have very large calves and I wear 13" Lace Up boots. I no longer have to fold and duct tape my pants! Even when wearing my high rubber Lacrosse boots they are very comfortable. They have somewhat of a slim fit from the knee down, but plenty of room above."

"I bought two pair of these pants to fit inside my wellies for this winter. Great purchase due to all the bad weather this year! They are strong, fabric is thick and well constructed."

"I also have the green wool marsh pant. Love 'em. Would like to have couple more colors in the wool and in little lighter weight. Rec: light gray. charcoal gray and a brown, olive, khaki--any other. I can wear the wool ones almost anywhere."

"I recently took these pants through some very dense and wet grouse/woodcock cover in Maine and they performed very well. They took a beating and showed no signs of wear and tear. The material is heavy duty and holds up well - the trade off is that the material is also a bit on the stiff/heavy side but not overly so.
If you plan to wear these pants with the cuffs over boots, you may need to wear longer boots, as the cuffs will ride up a bit, which may or may not be a problem depending on how long the pant legs are for you."

"I have worn these pants several times but have yet to test them during waterfowl season. You should purchase a waist size or two larger to allow ample leg room for walking and climbing. The color is a little on the light side for overcast hunting days. Suggest adding double buttons over the zipper to prevent tearing."

"I live on a horse farm in Ohio. These pants were excellent and helped me survive the hard winter of 2010. They are full enough to permit long underware. The cuffs permit ease in slipping on boots. The material is flexible and attractive enough for this farm women to wear to the store!!"

"I have been using Orvis products for years. These pants are just as advertised - I got them at the end of the season, and only had the opportunity to wear them a couple of times. They are very comfortable and are certain to go with me wherever I hunt. Great job as usual."

"Wore these pants for the first time yesterday in a float (duck) hunt with Chasseur, Le Chameau boots. They moved easily when shooting from the seated position in the canoe and were comfortable when walking. This is a great design and I am sorry that Orvis discontinued the whipcord/wool version of these pants.

Best Early Season Upland Pants,
05 October 2007
By: huntryx
"The fabric is tough but light, the fit is comfortable and the cuffed bottoms are the way to go in tick territory, which is still a concern during early season upland hunts. Great pants and a fair price."
