Cotton moleskin, a soft yet rugged shorn-pile fabric, holds up against brush and blunts the wind. Supple, comfortable, and quiet while hunting red grouse in the shadow of the Munros, Scotland's highest mountains. A design copied from the wardrobe of Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor. Four welted pockets and adjustable back belt for a personalized fit. Pure cotton moleskin front and back; pure cotton lining for comfort. In lovat. Washable. "The quality of the vest is apparent in the stitching, the soft hand of the fabric, and the details, such as the strap loop on the back. The fabric is heavy, so it keeps you warm on a cold day; but it might be a bit too much under a regular sport coat. It should work great under a barn coat or something a bit roomier. I don't think it works as a dress up vest. It's more like a weekend or casual style."

"I love my new waistcoat. At 5'8" and weighing 100 kilos I wasn't sure what size to go for, either L or XL. I chose L which was just right for me but it is a little tight around the waist. This won't be a problem when I lose 5 kilos. Thank you Orvis for a great product!"

"I absolutely love me new vest. The quality is superb. The material is a little thick, which I like. If you are looking for a extremely light weight vest you might want to pick another. For myself this one is perfect. Light enough to wear around the office, but heavy enough to be warm and toasty when worn under my coat as a second layer.
And it looks sharp! Goes well with jeans or dress pants.
I am sure I will buy another at some point."

"This vest is cut wide, so may be worn over a variety of upper clothing. The cloth is good, and the lining cheerful without being strident. It's comfortable to wear - I have wide ahoulders and back, and often feel contrained by things that purport to be my size but aren't. Like other Orvis clothing, it looks to lasta a flifetime."

"Another seriously good quality product from Orvis. This was a gift for my husband quite some time ago now and he has lived in it virtually ever since.
Very comfortably casual and hardwearing; despite heavy use, it still looks as it did when brand new.

"I used the on line advice facility to ascertain the garment measurements and other question's I had and found this to not only be very helpful but also 100% accurate.My wife also spoke to an advisor who we found very polite and helpful, and placed the order on Tuesday with it arriving on Thursday. Upon opening the parcel I found it to be everything I expected.The measurements given were accurate superb fit and the quality first class. Only extended wear will show wether the garment performs as well as it looks. overall first class service and garment."

"Bought myself another moleskin waistcoat to replace an early one that wore out after many years use.
Found this waiscoat to be simply the best garment to wear under a shooting coat over a shirt and tee when temperatures really dip.
Tried modern so-called 'technical' alternatives but this garment simply works better ... it cuts the mustard .. and I'm on my second ... that must say something."

"My wife gave me this vest for Father's Day (with a little hint from me). Nice fit, nice cut... no restraint of movement so it is very comfortable. I am looking forward to cooler weather to find more excuses to wear it. I was unfamiliar with moleskin but I love the combination of softness and toughness. I was also relieved to learn that no moles go into the making of this fabric...."

"I bought this a few months ago. A beautiful vest, well cut, good material. A shame that the seams are coming apart.
When I received the vest, I noticed that a pocket seam was unravelling. I didn't worry about this - thought it could be fixed cheaply by a neighbourhood tailor. It now turns out that he will have to partly remove the lining to fix it..
I have come across this problem in a pair of Orvis trousers before. Excellent cut, good material, but very poor seams. Such a shame."

"Of the three vests I have purchased from you, I like this best because of it warm, soft feel, perfect fit for my size and makes me feel well dressed whether worn under a coat or over a dress shirt when caring for patients. During the cooler months the lining was appreciated, but now in the late spring, it still feels comfortable in oursometimes over-airconditioned clinic."

"I do like the vest, but noticed that it's quite a bit thicker and heavier than the photos and product description would suggest. It also looks definitely more rustic than expected, but that may also be me wearing it :)

"I have worn Orvis clothing for years--when I can get it in tall sizes. I'd have at least one of everything if you only made them in talls. I want one of your Moleskin vests, but it won't work for a 6'4" man who wears a size 50 Long. Please at least consider it--there's a market."
