This incredibly soft European corduroy—a rugged, dense, 14.5-oz. pure cotton—undergoes a thorough prewash for a broken-in feel appropriate with a sport coat. Quarter-top pockets faced with leather for a distinctive look. Pure cotton. Washable. Imported.Even waist sizes 32-46. Cuffed up to 33" or plain finished up to 34" at no extra charge.

"I have 2 pairs of these cords that are at least 12 years old ( I lose track of the years). I still love them. 2 or 3 years ago I purchased 2 more pair. I'm thinking that the 25 year old customers got to Orvis. While these still have the great heavy corduroy that I've been unable to find anywhere else, they have a slightly trimmer cut than my old ones. As a result I wear my old ones more. The new trimmer cut just detracts from the classic design of the pant. Plus, for guys with big thighs (like me), they have lost some of their comfort factor. My old ones are like an old friend and still draw compliments. The newer ones, not so much. The leg is also too trim at the cuff. Doesn't quite look right with a cuff. This was one of the only Orvis trousers that I could wear, and now they've made this classic in a (for me) too trim cut.
If Orvis would also offer the old cut without the leather, I'd wear them every day and switch between the leather and non leather trimmed trouser.
The currently sold pants are Really good! Just not GREAT like they used to be.
C'mon, Orvis! Please go back to the cut that made these pants famous. They still look great on trimmer guys and you're not gonna sell them to 25 year olds anyway."

"When I was a teenager, what passed as corduroy was a thin material that faded and wore thin quickly. These aren't your teenage corduroys. These pants actually deserve their regal name. Fit for a prince or even the king himself. Imagine Louis XIV, parading down the hall of mirrors at Versailles in a pair of these, he would have looked regal indeed and more importantly he would have felt a king in these incredibly soft pants. . Luxurious and comfortable and very practical , too. Durable, versatile and toasty warm. These could last a lifetime and probably will. Yes, they aren't your teenage corduroys, they're all grown up and while they're not cheap , this kind of quality rarely is. On a cold winter's day, you'll be toasty warm. I'm grateful and happy to have several pairs. Even if poor Marie Antoinette didn't say "let them eat cake", no one could fault her if she'd lost her head and said, "let them wear Orvis cord du roi ! "."

"I have three pairs of these pants (different colours). My biggest problem is that there aren't more colours to select from (i.e. Black and Gray are missing).
Regardless these are by far my favourite product from Orvis. It will be a sad day when these pants wear out or if Orvis doesn't carry them any more. The taylor I take these to for hemming always comments about how 'high quality' the material is. You can attest to this by the weight of the pants when you hold them."

"Purchased the cords based upon the quality of the pant and the leather trim around the pockets. I am a picky pants buyer (I actually hate buying pants). These pants fit nicely, have deep pockets and made from thicker material. They feel very good, almost broken in."

"I now only buy my cords from Orvis as no other company has the qualty and durability of these cords. I am quite hard on my clothes and, in the past, other cords only lasted me a short time before bare patches appeared on the thighs. My Orvis cords are still as good as new, really comfortable, and great looking too."

"Today is 11/11/11 which happens to be a special day (for obvious visual reasons) for those people who have an affinity for corduroy. These pants are really not a surprise in that I always expect the best from Orvis. They are maybe a bit pricey, but one gets what one pays for..."
