"The construction seems solid, but it definitely needs more small pockets for storing the necessities of modern life.
I carry all sorts of little things like batteries, memory sticks, post-it flags, etc and was surprised at tle lack of small zippered pockets that have become common on other briefcases."

"Very please with the look and quality of this breifcase. I would be reluctant to say this is an "extra capacity" breifcase. It cousl use a couple more inches of capacity. Once you put a laptop and some cords in you don't have much left for papers. I gave three stars due to the price vs size. In reality this shouldn't cost more than $250."

"As a travelling businessperson with a laptop, I thought it was due time that I have something that reflected my business reputation. I splurged on this briefcase, and I have to say, not only does it make a handsome laptop bag but also an incredible overnight bag. There are a ton of compartments that help me keep my smaller things secure as well. Be advised that the personalization is engraved onto a brass plate on the opposite side of the bag (not shown)… all the same, it’s dynamite and I would recommend it to light and heavy business travelers alike."

"Bag seems small but relatively ok. That said, i got wrong information on monogramming so i will be donating it to charity after I have my initials removed. I specifically asked the phone rep ( who checked with his supervisor) if i had it monogrammed what it would look like and where it would be on the bag. I wanted to know in particlulatr if it wouid replace the large ORVIS name on the bag and be etched into the leather in a similar fashion. He said it would, so I ordered it and intstead got a goldish plate with my initials stamped on the other side. Unfortunately it looks to garrish for me to use."

"I fly a on a lot of regional jets, and was looking for something that would hold everything I needed in a carry-on, but yet fit in a small overhead or under the seat. This really works. The leather is perfect, it has plenty of interior storage space and great functional compartments. It even has a dedicated space for my IPad. I don't think I'll every fly without it."

"I am very pleased with this bag. It is the right size for carrying the laptop back and forth to work every day along with all the typical briefcase stuff. It should comfortably fit under an airline seat also. The only nitpick is that the clasp that keeps the handles together is a tight fit and difficult to fasten both snaps (it can be removed entirely though)"

"This is a great bag, very professional appearance and sized perfectly for my laptop and the other stuff I have to carry with it. ideal for day trips. Only improvement I can recommend is purely cosmetic- I would prefer a full leather strap instead of the leather/fabric strap."

"I'm delighted with this briefcase. I had this same one for over 10 years, it went through many battles with me and held up quite well with the use and abuse I put it through.
It was hard saying good bye to my old friend, but the time had come to replace it...
I had looked at many others. I had even received others as gifts, but they just did not measure up to the utility and satisfaction of my good old bullhide briefcase.
The new one has excellent improvements, with well placed padded pockets to safely and conveniently store my notebook and iPad, along with my traveling office essentials. It's a pleasure to use and money well spent!"

"I purchased this bag three years ago. I decided to buy it b/c I was tired of buying bags for $100 just to have them fall apart a few months later (I can be tough on my bags).
This bag has held up since the day I bought it perfectly. It also still looks great.
Then, last week, as I am traveling through an airport, the strap broke. I went onto the Orvis website to look up the product to call and see about ordering a new strap. I decided to try the customer service chat, and when I told them my strap broke, they just asked for my address and told me they were sending me a new one free of charge b/c they guarantee their products for life.
Not only is the bag great, but you can also count on Orvis for great service years after purchase.
Well worth the $325 they are asking."

"Gotta give kudos to Orvis customer service. Bought a bullhide attache (no longer offered) in 2006. Handle broke this year, and their Gokey facility could not fix it. Orvis sent the broken attache back to me AND refunded my purchase price because the bag was no longer offered and couldn't be fixed. You don't get that kind of customer service these days."
